One of the more highly anticipated recruits to step foot in Clifton this decade, Yancy Gates has always been held to a higher level of expectations than most. Entering his freshman season, he was considered by many to be the centerpiece of a frontcourt that could help buck the Bearcats' losing trend. Now, with one season in the books, Gates is looking to have a breakout season in the Big East and lead his Bearcats to a Big East championship, and, more importantly, a berth in the NCAA tournament.
